Stood the magical island of Atlas,
Bequeathed to him by his Old Man;
Envied by one and all!
In a single day and night of misfortune -
Brave Atlanteans Demeter swallowed!
Punished by Ares for a slight perceived,
The kingdom vanquished into shoal muds.
Only Father Time as its witness,
Hidden by the God of the Seas -
Awaiting discovery once again,
At the bottom of the ocean somewhere lies...

"Way down below the ocean where I wanna be, she may be!"
ReplyDeleteAs a persona of "the little mermaid", I am a big fan of the mer-people and of lost worlds under the sea. They fascinate me! The most cherished of lost kingdoms, was Atlantis - purported myth?
After Poseidon bequeathed the island to his son, Atlas, it was named after him, as was the mountain and the ocean. The island was larger than Ancient Libya and Asia Minor combined. This kingdom was supposedly a living Utopia ahead of its time in terms of amenities and quality of life. But a war brought upon their heads against Athenians destroyed the kingdom. And then suddenly in a single day and night, due to natural tragedies of flood and earthquakes, the island sunk to the bottom of the ocean blocked by shoal mud. It is said that this spot is impassable and unsearchable.
Maybe the island is in the Bermuda triangle which has strong magnetic waves emitting that deflects ships and planes passing through its water and air space. Or maybe not...
Nobody knows where the island is lying at the bottom of the ocean. Perhaps only time can tell!
"Imagine a heaven where everyone is his own king
So fragile, a vision to dance like the leaves in the wind.
Leave stipulate paths behind to march on my own
Salvation so easy to find
Built by my thoughts, born in my mind
Oh land of power and grace, my sanctuary
Instead of heaven is a place it's the realm of my dreams
A world forever to be the realm of Fantasy
Imagine a planet created by your own hands
So lovely, so silent, a kingdom of mighty and strength"
